Sometime in early I was working Wet Willies concert at The Convention Hall in Gadsden,I had a hard nose attitude about drugs and anyone that used them. I was there to make arrest and that included any band member if they were holding. I think the start up band was Black Leather from Gadsden and things were going as we had felt that they would, lots of long hair and smell of grass in the air. I had checked the back stage area and dressing rooms as Wet Willie came on stage an started to play,I went out into the crowd dressed in my tie-died shirt with bellbottoms and long wig.
In the dark no one could tell and some were so stoned they could have cared less. As Jimmy Started to play and sing something happened this was a kind of music I hadn't heard before,I liked music but this was different. I started feeling completely changed.
I begain to let my hair grow,I had to wear a wig to cover up my long hair, something I was already doing in the National Guard. I started looking at things very different,I saw things with more of an open mind.
You remember LP's? Big black round things! Actually, my phonogragh is on the fritz and I haven't heard your LP in some time. I really miss hearing them and hope to buy CD's when Album) come out!. In college at Ohio University in Athens a loooong time ago! I bought a copy of Left Coast Live off the back of Album) truck! But it was warped and I never saw it for sale again. I was really bummed a while back when I read in the Cleveland OH Scene that you had been in Cleveland on an anniversary tour and I missed it!
I wish I heard more Wet Willie on the radio! Jimmy Hall supposedly combines Ronnie Van Zant 's discretion with Gregg LP 's power, but to me he sounds like a cross between Chris Youlden and Lonesome Dave Peverett —with an authentic accent, of course. They continue to tour with three original members including original lead singer Jimmy Hall, brother Jack Hall on bass and vocals, sister Donna Hall Foster on vocals as well as other long time members, drummer T.

Features the title track Keep On Smilin' that these Southern rockers are most famous for!
The sleeve and vinyl on this copy show barel y any signs of age! A superb copy! Produced by Tom Dowd, 'Keep On Smilin' is the defin itive Wet Willie studio album; whilst the follow-up album, 'Dixie Rock', included the band's new backing group the Williettes, adding a gospel flavour to proceedings. I had heard the hits off Harvest. Then Decade came out in I bought Decadewhich made Harvest rather redundant at the time. Had six songs that I didn't recognize. What the heck.

Pink Floyd's Meddle It came out in I was sixteen and much more interested in Top 40 songs and the more commercial albums at the time. Meddle didn't qualify there. Finally sat down and really listened to the rest of the album on YouTube. It made sense almost fifty years later. Another SteveFeb 13, Always had some combination of The Band's first three, great albums. The original of Rock of Ages covered much of the same songs, especially from The Band- the "brown" album.
This expanded edition of Rock of Ages takes that to a whole new level. All things considered, this might be the epitome of The Band's output. Nowadays, if you can only own one album from The Band, their expanded Rock of Ages might be the "one" to own. Southern rock is a subgenre of rock music and a genre of Americana. It developed in the Southern United States from rock and roll, country music, and blues and is focused generally on electric guitars and vocals.
Author Scott B. Bomar speculates the term "southern rock" may have been coined in by Mo Slotin, writing for Atlanta's underground paper, The Great Speckled Bird, in a review of an Allman Brothers Band concert. It was released on June 19, in two forms, a single disc and a double disc release. It was the second release through the band's own label, Widespread Recordsin conjunction with UK-based label Sanctuary Records. The album covered a wide variety of styles, from rock to Latin and grunge to soul, yet did not depart from this jam band's signature sound.
