Jimmy McGriff - Live Where The Actions At (Vinyl, LP, Album)

Nick had his biggest AM pop chart hit in the U. Then he got together with Dave Edmunds and did the absolutely fantastic Seconds Of Pleasure album under the name Rockpile. Then there were a couple of other good albums and then 2 very country things which were still quite good.

And these are the original pressings found for the cheap price. But Friday Music has gone nuts. You can say what you want about Hot Topic and all the expensive, overpriced garbage quality clothing they sell. This one was no exception:. This thing sold out in about a day. I called and they gave me a tracking number and it is 12 miles from my HT store and will be delivered tomorrow. All the frenzied panic??

Well worth it! I reckon that nothing on this list is more than a month old? They are on the market right now! Well, it sure looks like Back On Black records out of the U. No company ever had the guts to put out all the killer hard rock that Back On Black have done over the years. Nobody, but nobody ever did it better than them. It seems like a fairly weak list in my opinion. Everything went pretty much downhill sales wise for them after this.

Are they crazy? In fairness, it really had nothing to do with Lemmy moving to Los Angeles, California. The call and response vocals are pure soul but the "ba ba bop" backing chorus again points West Coast as do the soaring harmonies when Reg croons " time after time, you will be mine ".

There's a distinct Rickenbacker lick throughout the number beneath steady acoustic guitar strumming which cements this to previous Action recordings though at this time Alan "Bam" King was mostly using a Gibson SG live and eventually a Fender Telecaster after the SG was snapped in two by a tumbling Marshall stack. Sadly despite a stellar performance and again the brilliant production of George Martin the public wasn't ready to give the Action a hit, even if they were writing their own material.

Snotty, Mick and Griff. Of curious note here, however, is the addition of Clarence Palmer, on organ. Benson had, in fact, not recorded in an organ-combo format under his own name since his very first group recorded for Columbia some half decade before. While Palmer accompanies and solos with an exotic yet subtle flair, Carter and DeJohnette engage in an exciting dialogue throughout, getting a feature all to themselves in the middle of the song.

No matter what the music they chose to arrange may be, they give it their own edge with their authentic, powerful and just plain fat sound while payin' attention to every detail to truly convey its original spirit. DopeGems are takin' the music from the vinyl crates and puttin' it back on stage.

It's all about providing powerful emotion with a smooth edge when Daniel Crawford touches the keys to lets his imagination flow in remixing classic songs. Enjoy the first single from his free to download jazz mixtape entitled "Side Effects" coming soon.

Nobody, but nobody ever did it better than them. It seems like a fairly weak list in my opinion. Everything went pretty much downhill sales wise for them after this. Are they crazy? In fairness, it really had nothing to do with Lemmy moving to Los Angeles, California. Things just change, man. Having said that, I appreciate these two albums a lot more now than when they first came out. They were never, ever able to recapture that.

This is a pretty redundant album as a whole. This was the beginning of the end for Udo. He left the band after the dismal sales of Russian Roulette. There were about LP or 4 very good songs though. The songwriting was not up to par. The live mini LP was just a substandard live piece. The only good thing was the killer choices of older song titles. Nevertheless, the studio versions were way better. Each album seemed to get weaker and the live album is probably the best of this lot, but not essential.

The early stuff was weak with a pretty bad singer. The Blitz is better than Change Of Address but these are both pretty much 2 star records. Hence, they ran out of ideas and went too pop. If you take these with a grain of salt, you may be able to stomach these?

Please sample these titles first. These titles need to be cherry-picked for sure. It weighs almost 5 pounds? We currently have 6 copies on the beautiful Opaque Blue Vinyl. Do not confuse with C-Bank!
